This looks great, Norma! Well done! The soft browns & cream are terrific. Your wordart is super and I love the ferns that adorn the frame. Always sad to lose a beloved pet, eh? Was she old?

I love German Shepherds, I think that once my life becomes less busy (kids are grown, I'm older, not working as much, etc, etc) I will adopt another one. To me these are amazing dogs and a wonderful company.

It seems young but I think it's not a bad age for a big dog. Don't bigger dogs have shorter life spans? We had a short-haired collie dog when we were kids but I've never owned a dog. I've always had cats, mostly strays, and we still have 5. I've looked after a brother's dog - a light golden retriever - for a couple of weeks. I was getting up really early and going for a half hour walk with him. He loved going about his traps & it was good exercise. I'd then go for another walk before I went to bed so I see it's a lot of work owning a dog! Alsatians are lovely-looking dogs and whilst they are known for sometimes being vicious, I think it mostly depends on how they're brought up. ?? I mean, if they're not trained to be vicious, they're much more docile. Then again, I'm not sure about that. Obviously, your Java was a sweetie.
Got to get to work!
