What is GIMP?
GIMP is an acronym for GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed program for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring.

It is highly compariable to Photoshop Elements, it is easy to install ( I done that myself) and its tutorials are written in several languages including English, German, Italian and a few more. And most important it can be used FREELY for you Digital Scrapbooking needs !
