Hi guys
A few other scrappers all over digi-land have been receiving messages from someone who goes either as Serendipity2 or Eternity.

This person will send you a one line message with some quote or sentence, and then there is a link underneath.
If you click it, it will infect your machine
Unfortunately it has happened to a lot of people already.
I had message from this person in 3 ither digi scrapping sites, I'm on iMac though, so that kind of every day trojan horse or worms do not affect me,but I just thought I let you know, as today for the second time I got a pm from this user (in here is Eternity)
I juts went in and deleted straight away.

Hope none has had any problems

Can you please forward me the email? I didn't get it. This way I can see exactly who sent it.

I already deactivated the user under the "Eternity" name.

I deleted it without opening it....because I had it in so many other sites, I knew it was virus...
I just wanted to warn other people because when I was on Windows and knew less of what I know now about computers (which isnt too much lol)
the pm would have called my attention, and by curiosity I would have clicked in the link.... and like that I ruined two computers in 2002 & 2004

I ll look to see if it is in the system but I deleted it before coming to post here

I got it too, deleted it straight away. I did notice that the sender has been banned though. I can never understand what people get out of doing things like that.

I never understood about it either....and we have been, I think, lucky up until now in this digi land of ours....not much of it...and thanks to some other Mac Users we were able to identify this person/s...

I have a friend, a scrapping girl, she is a young girl of 21, not much knowledgable in computers...
she was in a yahoo group that searches for freebies.
the poor kid downloaded something without thinking twice...she has been without a computer for the past 3 months

I don't get what people get out of wars either...but unfortunately, evil is found in all human groups...we need to keep together, leave all the envious people out and help identify these bad apples...

I m glad I came to post it and at least some people are now aware...

Also, in a more lighter note, I ll try making some time to come browse the galleries, some friends I love and admire post here and I m delighted every time I come have a look...been very busy with lots of work, but I take this opportunity to congratulate you all

Thanks so much for the warning. I just received a message from Eternity. For some reason I didn't click on the link. I saved it for later. I saw the word banned under the name but I'm new here. This was my first private message and I wasn't sure what that meant. I recently killed two computers by clicking things. Again, thanks.

yep, I got it too.. but I didnt even see the link - probably cos I just never click on that stuff so I dont even see it anymore. Thank you for the notice though that was great.

Its a bit sad that my first message was a spammer - good idea for everyone to check their antivirus and all that is up to date.
