How to add shadows in The GIMP?

Does any body know how to add shadows to elements using the The GIMP?

To add shadows to your digital elements follow these steps:

On your Layer's (Layers, Channels, Path ) Dialog:

• Right-click on the layer that you want to add the shadow
• Select "Alpha to selection"

On your "Untitled" Dialog (or whatever your file name is):

• Click on "Script-fu" -> Shadow->Drop Shadow.
• The "Script-Fu: Drop-Shadow" Dialog will open.

On the "Script-Fu: Drop-Shadow" Dialog:

• click "Ok" OR make modifications to the default shadow options.

A shadow will be added to your element.

That's it!
