The GIMP 2.6 released!

I guess I've been slacking since I hadn't announced this but The GIMP 2.6 was released on October 1st!

2.6 is available for download for Windows here: http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html

It looks like the Mac port hasn't been done yet, however.

i wondered - if we download this new version will this get rid of all our brushes we've been installing?

I think it depends on where you installed them. If you installed in within program files (where your .exe files are) you would; if you installed them in user (or whatever your computer is called, sometimes the installer will use your name or company) files it will automatically install them in the update [and that is where it recommends you install everything, and only the presets are in the other files]
