Default how to use edges in Gimp, or make my own?

I purchased some ready made edges. Each one has a png file and a psd file. But, I don't know how to use them. I thought I'd be able to somehow add them to papers I have, but I don't know how.

And I'd also like to know how I can make my own realistic looking folded and torn edges in the Gimp. Is there a way to do that?

are you talking about edge shapes or just edges that look like torn or curled paper?? I might be able to help with that! Let me know!
