question on how to make buttons

I have a quick question. I would like to make some button in GIMP. I have the button template and would like to get the buttons with the rounded edge look. When I make them, they have the flat look to them and I would just like to get them to have the rounded edge to them. Is there anyone who can help me with that??? Thank you very much!!!

Sorry, but I have never made a button from scratch. Perhaps the emboss option will give you the height & roundness that you are after.

It isn't for GIMP but there is a tutorial on making buttons at Cen's Loft. I haven't had a chance to follow it and work out the equivalent in GIMP but it might help some.
