During the month of March 2008 I will be hosting a challenge called "Making the best of my Digital Scrapbook Layout"
The purpose of this challenge is to get everyone involve in giving and receiving constructive feedback on each other's layouts. In this challenge, you will be require to create or select one of your existing layouts that you think it "needs something". The layout has to be completed and post it in our Learning Center SgD Gallery and also listed under this thread. Everyone is welcome to participate. If you post a layout to receive constructive feedback, you are require to give constructive feedback to other layouts posted for this challenge. For each constructive feedback that you give, you are also require to mention something that you like about the layout. The constructive feedback has to be posted as a comment in the Learning Center SgD Gallery. Please remember to phrase your suggestion in a postive way. During the first week of April, you are require to post your "FINAL" layout. You don't need to incorporate all of the suggestions if you don't want to, but we will still like to see your final layout with a few improvements. I hope you all enjoy this challenge! It's been close to a year since you posted this.. would you still like input on this LO? I love the B&W with the subtle hint of colour... beautiful.

I love the colour you used on this LO, it s absolutely perfect for the pictures of your mom.. I noticed though that my eye isn't drawn to anything in particular and wanders the page. To give your eye a focal point (presumably the large picture) you may want to triangulate it using the nice warm brown colour in the strip along the bottom. Use it as one of your elements and maybe add a brad, button, photo turn or the likes beside the top left hand side of the picture. Then maybe add a small word art (or something else) in the same brown colour to the bottom right hand of the picture or page above the strips of paper.
You might also be able to get away with just adding another thin photomat in the brown colour between the white mat and the photo to emphasize the large picture. I love the LO though, it's beautiful, subtle, and I love the right justification of the journalling, it's a really great touch! |
